The New Pioneer DJM 800 Mixer

Announcement, Equipment No Comments

bmr175565.jpg

Pioneer’s new generation djm800 is a prime example of the forward thinking technology available for the more creative end of the dj industry. Following the highly acclaimed and established djm600, the djm800 provides four channels, built in fx and top quality build but in true form, pioneer incorporate innovative add-ons to revolutionize the performance of the dj. The industry first auto harmonic tuning detects the key of a song and automatically corrects it to the closest true key. So when a dj raises or lowers the pitch, taking the song away from its original key, the harmonic tuning feature will correct it to the nearest standard note making harmonic mixing achievable on every record. Pioneer have also added the pro-dj “must have” filter section with low, hi and band pass filters. The simple pioneer standard fx interface takes all the familiar djm fx as well as some interesting new additions and a beat synch feature, as seen on the efx1000 units, meaning the fx will fall in time with the beat of the record. Sound color control, digital inputs and outputs combined with a fully assignable midi control option means the djm800 is compatible with the furthest reaching digital dj tools, adding a sense of a “future proof dj console”. Take all these advanced features with the standard excellence of pioneer djm mixers, such as quality vca level controls, three band eq, full send & return loop and fader starts and the djm800 presents itself as a formidable mixing console.

Equipment No Comments

As deejays we are subjected to loud music and constant hammering beats, so our ears take a lot of punishment, event dj’s suffer just as much as the local club dj’s, whether it is playing a set for an hour to a whole night of deejaying, our ears suffer, now the most important tool for a dj is his headphones, sure we can go out and get budget headphones and dj with those, but these headphones have not been designed to block out the noise from out side, so the dj’s end up increasing the volume on the mixer so that they can block the outside noise, through doing that we damage our ears, so what I suggest to the budding dj’s out there do not save money on headphones rather spend money on a good pair, below are a just a few headphones that I think will be able to take the punch and also save your ears in the long run.
