Namlish.com LogoIf you haven’t heard about Namlish.com by now, you must be living in a cave. Namlish.com is Namibia’s number one online social community. They offer everything from event information and event photos to a babe of the month and an online message board.

Nel and the rest of the gang from Namlish do a fantastic job at always keeping the site up to date. If you want to stay up to date with the latest events in Namibia, I highly recommend signing up for the Namlish newsletter. This can be done by going to the site and just filling in the form located on the right!

Namlish is always up for a party and if there IS a party happening, they’re usually there. It takes a LOT of hard work to keep a site like Namlish going, and I personally feel these guys don’t get nearly enough praise. So, I’d just like to take a second to say, “Way to go, Namlish!”. You guys really do rock, and thanks to you, the Namibian entertainment scene has picked up. I for one firmly believe that if it wasn’t for Namlish’s efforts of promoting events and providing after-party photos, the scene wouldn’t be close to what it is today!

Be sure to look out for Namlish’s camp site on Long Beach on the 31st of December! It’ll be without a doubt one of the better places to position yourself on long beach! I know I’ll be there!

Tiger Reef

Holiday, Occasion, Venue No Comments

I had the privilege of attending the Camel Party at Tiger Reef this past Wednesday. It was brilliant! As always, Camel did A LOT of effort! There were scanners, plasma screens and even a platform for people to dance on. But one thing I noticed especially, was how the whole of Tiger Reef itself has also changed. It is now considerably bigger with an extra bar!

Tiger Reef

With Summer Sessions going down on the 27th and Infectious Electro going down on the 31st, Tiger Reef has clearly gained in popularity and really seems like the place to be this holiday in Swakopmund!

Dys-Funk-Shun 6 Video

Occasion, Video 1 Comment

Stumbled upon this video a while back, and decided to upload it to YouTube. Don’t know if any of you remember Dys-Funk-Shun, but the Dys-Funk-Shun parties used to rock back in the day. Unfortunately, the parties died out because the venue had to be moved. The video below is of Dys-Funk-Shun 6, the last Dys-Funk-Shun ever to be thrown…

Summer Session Preview Mix

Downloads, Mixes No Comments

I’ve decided to put up a little “preview mix” for summer sessions. This is a short 48 minute mix done by myself, DJ RD. This should give you a good indication of the kind of music you can expect at Tiger Reef on the 27th of December! Feel free to leave comments…

A moment for Amphis

Occasion No Comments

For the first time in many years, there really will be no Amphis. Some might not care, but others, like me, might be totally bummed out by the news. Even though it was impossible to tell how successful Amphis will be each year, everyone knew at least there was going to be an Amphis. I personally chose to go there each year, no matter what, because it offered a greater experience than Long Beach or any other event in Namibia could offer. It really is a shame. Amphis, you will be missed!
